Hebrew Poem

I started my Ulpan a week ago, which means that for the last week I have been studying intensive Hebrew. I have been looking for as many ways as possible to practice with my extremely limited vocabulary and my new alphabet. The result is this INCREDIBLY simple poem that I wrote on my class break today:

אני לא רוצה לשיר

אני לא שומעת את השיר 

אני רק רוצה שקט

היום 

It sounds like:

Ani lo rotsa lasheer

Ani lo shoma'at ha sheer

Ani rak rotsa sheket

hayom

Translation:

I don't want to sing
I don't hear the song

I only want silence

today

How fun it is explore ideas through new language!

This is all to say that I am having a great time learning Hebrew. It is a beautiful language, both written and spoken. Also, the opportunity to see performances in Hebrew and enjoy the rich artistic culture has been deeply rewarding.

All in all, an A+ experience.
